Cancellation of United Kingdom ID Cards for British Citizens

Please note that from 21st January 2011, United Kingdom Identity Cards will no longer be valid legal documents for the purposes of confirming identity, age or travel in Europe.  All holders of these ID cards have been contacted and advised of this change, however carriers may still encounter some passengers attempting to travel with this form of identification.

British citizens seeking to travel to the United Kingdom from this date will require a current and valid British passport.
